Hydrostor Industrial Pty Ltd in Penrith seeks an experienced Fiberglass Technician to join the team. This full-time role operates on the afternoon shift (2.00pm–10.00pm), Monday to Friday, with a focus on fabricating and finishing fiberglass stormwater containment tanks.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in fiberglass fabrication.
• Knowledge of orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester resins.
• Experience using MMA (methyl methacrylate) adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow approved drawings for stormwater containment tanks.
• Cut and prepare fiberglass for component installation and penetrations.
• Laminate and fill gaps using hand layup techniques; finish with flow coat.
• Work safely, using ladders/scaffolding and adhering to policies.

As an Australian manufacturer of fibre reinforced prefabricated storage tanks since 1972, Hydrostor Industrial Pty Ltd - an associated entity of SPEL Environmental Pty Ltd - has over 50 years' experience in providing solutions for many applications.

We are currently seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician / Fiber Composite Technician to join our team in Penrith. This is a full time role and will involve working Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm (afternoon shift).

You will be responsible for:

• Working in a safe manner and following all safety instructions and policies


• Safely using ladders and scaffolding to access work areas


• Reading and manufacturing stormwater containment and treatment tanks in accordance with approved drawings


• Cutting and preparing fiberglass for the installation of components and penetrations


• Filling all gaps and laminating using hand layup techniques


• Finishing tanks with a flow coat

Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar role in the fiberglass industry.

You'll also have an understanding of differences between Orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester resins, and have experience using Methyl Methacrylate Adhesives (MMA).

A salary package of $80,000- $85,000 will be offered to the successful applicant, plus afternoon shift loading and overtime as required.
