Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a Female High Intensity Disability Support Worker to provide complex in-home care for a 13-year-old boy in Glenwood, NSW. Two carers are required for all personal cares, transfers and repositioning, with no unattended time.

You will support enteral feeding via PEG, administer medications, monitor seizures, manage dystonia, assist with daily living and community outings, and deliver home therapy programs.

Qualifications

• Overnight support experience.
• Reliable and capable carer.
• Willingness to work across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Enteral feeding via PEG including ketogenic meals where applicable.
• Medication administration as per care plan.
• Seizure monitoring and response, including buccal Midazolam when required.
• Dystonia management and repositioning every 1–2 hours, including overnight.
• Manual handling transfers and top-and-tail care.
• Personal cares including continence management and daily changes.
• Vital signs monitoring and basic vital checks.
• Skin checks and pressure care.
• Delivery of home therapy activities and sensory engagement.
• Accompanying the participant on community outings and school transport.
