Job summary

Open Futures Disability Services is seeking a compassionate Female Disability Support Worker to provide complex care for a female participant in Jamboree Heights, Queensland. The role requires adherence to PBS frameworks, personal care, and safeguarding the participant's dignity and autonomy.

The position is on-site with a 7-day rotating roster, sleepover shifts, and weekend coverage. Applicants must have First Aid, CPR, an NDIS Worker Screening Check, and the ability to communicate clearly in

Qualifications

• Vehicle for work is required and must be comprehensively insured.
• Proven experience supporting individuals with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern.
• Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks.
• Experience delivering personal care with dignity and safety.
• Clear spoken and written English.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.
• Completed NDIS modules: Worker Orientation and Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals.
• Availability for a 7‑day rotating roster, including sleepovers and weekends.

Open Futures Disability Services is seeking compassionate, resilient, and experienced female Disability Support Workers to provide dedicated care for a female participant in her early 30s residing in Jamboree Heights.

Our participant is a fully mobile young lady living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), mental health challenges, and complex behaviours. To support her privacy, dignity, and unique communication needs during intimate personal care routines, this position is open to female applicants only.

We are looking for support workers who bring professional boundaries, emotional resilience, and demonstrated experience in:

• Managing complex and challenging behaviours
• Supporting individuals with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) or similar neurological conditions
• Providing empathetic emotional regulation and psychosocial support
• Delivering respectful personal care assistance and prompting

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Following positive behaviour support and individualised care plans meticulously
• Providing proactive emotional support and grounding techniques
• Assisting with personal care, grooming, and hygiene needs while preserving dignity
• Supporting daily living activities, household tasks, and domestic routines
• Meal planning, preparation, and cooking
• Accurate medication administration and documentation
• Empowering the participant to maintain independence, personal choice, and community connection
• Adhering to individual safe work practices and risk management strategies
• Maintaining clear, objective progress notes and reporting operational concerns promptly
• Communicating effectively with family stakeholders, team members, and management

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

• A reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle available for work purposes
• Proven professional experience supporting individuals with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern
• Demonstrated experience working alongside Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks
• Experience confidently managing personal care routines
• Professional literacy with the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance (Paid Yellow Card status)
• Completed NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission modules: Worker Orientation and Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals
• Availability to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, including active/passive sleepover shifts and weekends
• Capacity to commence immediately following successful client matching
