Job summary

Inghams Chickens is seeking dedicated Farm Hands for Toowoomba Farm 1. You will care for poultry, assist with daily farm tasks, and help maintain cleanliness and safety on site. Immediate start with 30-38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am starts, with occasional weekend/public holiday work.

You should be reliable, physically fit, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid driver's license and transport are required; forklift/tractor experience is advantageous but not

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day care of poultry, including feeding, monitoring and handling.
• Work with rearing birds (0-21 weeks) - vaccinating, grading and weighing.
• Carry out cleaning, sanitisation and general farm maintenance tasks.
• Monitor bird health and report any irregularities.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with biosecurity and animal welfare standards.
• Operate basic machinery and equipment safely.
• Support farm management with other operational tasks as needed.

We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Farm Hands to join our team at Toowoomba Farm 1. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the care and welfare of our birds, as well as contributing to the overall cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the farming operation. Whether you have prior farming experience or are looking to start your career in agriculture, we'd love to hear from you.

Shift: Monday to Friday (30-38hrs per week) - 7am starts, with weekend/public holiday work as required

Daily Tasks

You will bring to this role

• A Valid Driver's License and your own transport to/from work (required)
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
• Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, particularly around animal welfare and hygiene
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
• A Valid Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Previous tractor/maintenance experience (advantageous but not essential)
• Previous experience in farming or animal care (advantageous but not essential)
