Job summary

City of Greater Geelong is seeking an experienced administrative professional to support the Family Services Department across Geelong's Early Childhood Centres, with travel between centres as required.

In this permanent full-time Band 4 role you will manage high-volume enquiries, maintain records, prepare reports and presentations, and provide customer‑facing service to staff, families and community members.

Salary: Band 4 - $76,010.65 pa plus super.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in administrative roles over several years.
  • Proven ability to manage high‑volume phone and in‑person enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Strong customer-service orientation when supporting staff, clients, families, and community members.
  • Experience developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing electronic and hard‑copy record‑keeping systems, including creating and maintaining databases.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Preferred candidates will require a Working with Children’s Check and be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).

About the role

In this role you will provide high level administration support across the Family Services Department in an efficient and effective manner with a strong emphasis on customer service.

You will be based at one of the City’s Early Childhood Centres within the Geelong region, relative to your residential location, although you may be asked to travel between the City’s 11 centres where required.
