Job summary

The GEO Group Australia is seeking a Family Practitioner at Ravenhall Correctional Centre to deliver pre- and post-release family interventions and coordinate family services as part of our rehabilitation and reintegration programs.

You will liaise with government bodies, deliver the Parenting Program, and support families to maintain positive relationships while prisoners progress through programs. This role focuses on trauma-informed care and collaborative case management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in Family Case Management and liaising with internal and external agencies such as DHHS/Child Protection.
• Experience in delivering parenting programs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
• Strong communication and rapport-building with prisoners, peers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of reintegration programs and prisoner services related to family services.
• Facilitate family case management assessments and tailored support plans.
• Provide information/advice on participation in programs and completions.
• Coordinate with DHHS Child Protection and community services for family contact needs.
• Deliver the RCC Parenting Program and supervise/coordinate family support activities.
• Manage referral waits and assess suitability for parenting programs.
• Deliver group-based parenting sessions and provide individual support.
• Support fathers to improve relationships with children and manage parenting challenges.
• Evaluate program outcomes and report to stakeholders.
• Coordinate Just for Dads activities and maintain family contacts during imprisonment.
