Job summary

Phoenix Rising For Children (PRFC) is seeking Contact Supervisors across metropolitan Sydney who are willing to travel throughout Western Sydney, the South, East, and North Shore. The role is part-time casual, with travel expenses reimbursed for journeys exceeding 20 km to and from visits.

Responsibilities include supervising visits, monitoring safety, recording observations, and preparing detailed reports read by magistrates and child protection professionals.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to working with children, young people, and families
• Experience working with children and young people
• Understanding of out-of-home care services, mandatory reporting requirements, and NSW Child Protection legislation, or willingness to learn
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, compassion, and understanding
• Current full driver’s licence and own comprehensively insured, reliable motor vehicle
• Own mobile phone, computer, and access to the internet
• Exceptional observational and writing skills
• First aid certificate, or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Provide support and supervision to children, young people, and families during contact visits
• Monitor children’s safety, wellbeing, and welfare
• Manage tension and conflict appropriately
• Identify ways to enhance interactions between children and family members
• Observe and record interactions between parents/significant others and children or young people
• Make recommendations to support improved contact outcomes
• Prepare detailed and objective reports following contact sessions
