Job summary

Each in Ringwood (Melbourne area) seeks a passionate Children’s Contact Service Practitioner for a casual role, including weekend hours. You will support children and families during transitions, supervising visits and facilitating changeovers in a safe, welcoming space.

Based on the Ringwood centre, you’ll collaborate with legal and community services, maintain notes, and prepare reports. The role emphasizes child-centered practice, empathy, and strong communication to help families navigate

Qualifications

• Minimum tertiary qualification in Community Services or related field
• Experience in child-focused casework and working with families in crisis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisational abilities
• Understanding of the impact of family violence and mental health on children’s wellbeing
• Knowledge of psycho-social stages of separation and family dynamics

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to determine suitability for the service
• Supervise visits and facilitate changeovers
• Monitor and intervene to ensure safety of children
• Maintain accurate observational notes and documentation
• Liaise with legal representatives and prepare court reports as required
• Communicate with families in a respectful, child-focused and empathetic manner
