Job summary

Distinctive Wardrobes is looking for a reliable, capable person to join our Bathurst factory team making wardrobes and shower screens from prefinished board, aluminium, mirrors and glass. You do not need to be a qualified cabinetmaker or glazier; we train the right person and value practical ability, reliability and pride in finishing products.

Factory Production All-Rounder - Wardrobes & Shower Screens

Weekday day shift | Typically 40 hours/week | Occasional overtime

Distinctive Wardrobes is looking for a reliable, capable person to join our small Bathurst factory team making wardrobes and shower screens from prefinished board, aluminium, mirrors and glass.

You do not need to be a qualified cabinetmaker or glazier. We care more about practical ability, mechanical aptitude, reliability and whether you take pride in getting the finished product right. Relevant experience in cabinetry, kitchens, wardrobes, glazing, aluminium, shopfitting or another finished-product factory is useful, but we can train the right person.

The work

• Operate and learn equipment including a beam saw, Biesse CNC drilling machine and edgebander.

• Assemble wardrobe doors/products and work with aluminium, mirrors and glass.

• Check measurements and finished-product quality, then pack jobs carefully for transport.

• Move between tasks and help solve simple machinery or production problems as your experience grows.

Physical side

This is an active factory job. Some products are around 25-30 kg, with heavier items handled by two people. You need enough reach, grip and coordination to safely span and control wide wardrobe doors and panels at full reach.

Hours, pay and benefits

• Full time, weekday day shift; typically around 40 hours/week.

• Occasional overtime is required, including sometimes staying back to finish a job for the next day's truck.

• $30-$36/hr + super, depending on capability and relevant experience.

• Small, friendly team; experienced Production Foreman; varied work and training across different machinery/products.

• Long-term opportunity to become one of the key people we rely on as your capability develops.

Forklift licence is useful but not essential. Driver licence is not essential if you can reliably attend work. This role is not suited to someone whose experience is only earthmoving/heavy plant or raw-material processing.
