Job summary

CSIRO's Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong invites a Facility Veterinarian to bring veterinary expertise to high-containment animal research. You will support animal care, welfare, and disease investigations within a national program addressing emerging infectious diseases.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams across research, diagnostics, surveillance and biosecurity, adhering to strict ethics and regulatory frameworks, and may be required to work on weekends or

Qualifications

• A veterinary degree and eligibility for registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria.
• Minimum of two years’ veterinary experience.
• Experience applying veterinary expertise to animal health, clinical care and disease investigations in research or related environments.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and develop technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical veterinary care and technical expertise for animal-based research.
• Advise research teams on animal health, welfare and husbandry.
• Contribute veterinary expertise to study design, animal ethics applications and project implementation.
• Support preventative health, disease surveillance and emergency veterinary response.
• Develop and deliver training resources to promote best practices.
