Job summary

Kinglake Farms Pty Ltd in Kinglake VIC is seeking a full-time Facility Supervisor to lead inspection, grading, packing and dispatch activities across our premium blueberry operations.

You will supervise and train staff, ensure compliance with quality, food safety and WHS standards, maintain accurate records, manage the cold chain, and liaise with production managers to keep processes running smoothly.

Qualifications

• AQF Cert III or Cert IV or equivalent; OR 3 years as Facility Supervisor with formal training; OR 5 years with no formal training.
• Experience supervising and training workers across production stages.
• Understanding of agricultural inspection standards, grading regulations, and WHS laws.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess incoming and processed produce for quality and standards.
• Monitor product quality across production stages and address issues.
• Oversee QA systems and hygiene to ensure food safety compliance.
• Conduct sampling and testing and maintain inspection records.
• Ensure traceability and documentation for QA logs and dispatch records.
• Supervise, train, and coordinate staff involved in inspection, grading, packing, and dispatch.
• Manage cool chain operations and storage conditions.
• Maintain facility hygiene and waste management per SOPs.
• Coordinate with production managers to resolve issues and support compliance.
• Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.

Job Description

Kinglake Farms Pty Ltd is a large family-run horticulture business with operations in Kinglake VIC and Rosewood NSW. The company specialises in growing and packing premium blueberries for domestic distribution to the national supermarkets. The business is seeking a full-time qualified Facility Supervisor. The salary offered is $79,423 per annum plus superannuation. The Facility Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties:

• Inspect and assess incoming and processed produce to ensure compliance with quality, grading, and industry standards.
• Monitor product quality throughout all production stages, identifying and rectifying grading, handling, or mechanical issues.
• Oversee quality assurance systems and hygiene procedures, ensuring full compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
• Conduct sampling and testing of produce for quality, size, and purity, and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Ensure complete product traceability and accurate documentation, including quality assurance logs, grading sheets, and dispatch records.
• Supervise, train, and coordinate staff involved in inspection, grading, packing, and dispatch activities.
• Manage cool chain operations and storage conditions to maintain product integrity and shelf life.
• Maintain facility hygiene, waste management, and equipment cleanliness in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Liaise with operational managers to coordinate production, resolve issues, and support compliance.
• Prepare reports and recommend corrective or preventive actions to address quality or process non-conformances and improve efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

The Facility Supervisor is required to have the following qualifications and experience:

• A relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV or equivalent; OR
• 3 years of experience as a Facility Supervisor with relevant formal training; OR
• 5 years of experience as a Facility Supervisor with no formal training.

The Facility Supervisor will have the following qualities and skills:

• Ability to supervise and train workers at various production stages
• Understanding of agricultural inspection standards and grading regulations
• Familiarity with chemical handling regulations and workplace health and safety laws
