Job summary

Coastal Hydroponics on the Gold Coast is seeking a full-time Facilities Supervisor to oversee daily operations, packaging quality, and dispatch for our salad production. You will ensure QA records are complete and the cool chain is maintained, while coordinating with Harvest, Maintenance and Dispatch teams.

Experience with production machinery (Propac, Ishida, LOMA) is preferred. The role requires hands-on supervision and adherence to standard procedures to guarantee freshness and quality

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct handling and quality of product to meet customer requirements
• Assess incoming product and determine grading resources
• Rectify issues due to mechanical damage or grading quality
• Coordinate with Harvest, Maintenance and Dispatch Managers
• Maintain QA records for traceability
• Manage correct cool chain during handling and dispatch
• Ensure staff are trained and performing per SOP
• Handle waste per procedure
• Oversee dispatches per standard procedure
• Operate production machinery and troubleshoot when needed
• Proficient with Propac, Ishida and Loma equipment

Job description

We are a family owned and operated business established in 1983. We package a variety of salad mixes, whole lettuce and herbs from our Gold Coast location and supply all year round and guarantee freshness and quality.

We are looking for a full time Facilities Supervisor for our business who is motivated and dedicated to the operations of a forward moving business.

The person selected will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for duties including:

• Ensure correct handling and quality of product to meet customer's requirements including grading, packing, cool chain, hygiene and dispatch;
• Assess incoming product regarding quality and determine grading resources;
• Rectify any issues due to mechanical damage/grading quality;
• Coordinate with Harvest Supervisor / Maintenance Manager / Dispatch Manager;
• Ensure all Quality Assurance (QA) records are correct, allowing for complete traceability;
• Manage correct cool chain when handling and dispatch of product;
• Ensure all personnel are trained and performing as per standard procedure;
• Ensure all waste products are handled as per standard procedure;
• Ensure all dispatches are as per standard procedure
• Run machinery efficiently throughout production and complete trouble shooting when necessary.
• Experience with process machinery- propac, ishida and loma preferred.
