Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a Maintenance Officer for our residential aged care facility in Greystanes. This full-time role involves taking ownership of facility upkeep, coordinating repairs, and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for residents and staff.

You will perform general maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building tasks, maintain outdoor areas, and support safety and compliance initiatives while contributing to a supportive, not-for-profit care

Qualifications

• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience as a Maintenance Person in Retirement Living preferred.
• Previous experience in building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, building).
• Maintaining outdoor spaces with groundskeeping tasks.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance per site schedules.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests.
• Monitoring works for regulatory compliance.
• Contributing to Work Health & Safety practices.
