Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our Campbell residential aged care facility three days a week. You will own the upkeep, identify issues, coordinate repairs and maintain high safety standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a similar role.
• Experience with facility upkeep including plumbing, electrical, and building systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with safety and health regulations in aged care environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs across plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep.
• Perform or coordinate repairs and routine maintenance to ensure equipment and systems function safely.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimise breakdowns and extend system life.
• Regularly check critical systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting and safety equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including infection control protocols for aged care.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and service reports.
