Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Officer for our Marsfield residential aged care facility. The role covers general maintenance, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds upkeep, plus bus driver duties for resident outings.

You will respond to maintenance requests, ensure safety standards, and support a collaborative team. NSW driver’s license is essential and experience in residential aged care is preferred.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience across facilities.
• Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry work.
• Grounds maintenance and outdoor area upkeep.
• NSW driver’s license is essential for the role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across aged care and retirement living communities.
• Maintain outdoor areas through lawn mowing, hedging, gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment and assets.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve repairs.
• Support safety and WHS culture within the facility.
• Bus driver duties: transport residents to outings, maintain vehicles and assist staff.
