Job summary

Holmesglen Institute is hiring a Maintenance Officer - Painter to maintain and repair internal and external surfaces across campus buildings, furniture, and equipment. You will apply paints, stains, sealers and primers, and perform minor surface repairs to ensure high-quality, durable finishes.

The role operates across Holmesglen metro campuses with onsite parking and close access to public transport. It requires trade qualifications, a valid driver’s licence, and safety checks; you will work as

Qualifications

• Trade related qualifications or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
• Valid and current driver’s licence.
• WWCC and Police Check required; Victorian employee Working with Children Check and Police Check within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Property Services Department to deliver on the property maintenance plan.
• Prepare and treat surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching and removing old coatings.
• Apply finishes including paints, stains, sealers, varnishes, primers and protective coatings to surfaces and structures.
• Conduct graffiti removal from Council buildings and facilities.
• Plan, prioritise and complete painting and maintenance tasks in line with procedures.
