Waverley Council is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, renewal and compliance across its building portfolio. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of critical plant, safety systems and service contracts.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, drive continuous improvement, and ensure facilities meet legislative standards while delivering value for money and high customer service levels. Flexible working arrangements available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Building/Facilities Management and/or Project Management or substantial equivalent experience.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
• Strong procurement and contract management experience.
• Strong project management and organization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High-level computer literacy across Microsoft suite or similar databases.

Responsabilités

• Direct and supervise the Facilities team in delivering the annual maintenance program, with oversight of statutory and critical plant maintenance to ensure preventative schedules are met.
• Develop and deliver an annual capital renewal program, prioritised using condition data and aligned to the Asset Management Plan to reduce compliance and safety risk.
• Own and discharge WHS due diligence obligations for building compliance and maintain records.
• Procure and manage maintenance service contracts in line with procurement policy and ensure best value for money.
• Develop facilities maintenance budgets based on condition assessments, contractor pricing and priorities; monitor expenditure and report quarterly.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the Facilities team and maintain high levels of customer service.
