Job summary

Homewood Care is seeking a Maintenance Officer to support the Manager in maintaining buildings, infrastructure and equipment, with emphasis on WHS compliance and safety. The role involves coordinating the maintenance team, inspections, repairs and risk assessments in a care facility environment.

Applicants should have maintenance experience and a WHS qualification, with the ability to manage budgets and adapt work sequences to residents and organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance roles.
• Qualification in Work Health and Safety desirable.
• Ability to operate within budgets for planned and unplanned maintenance and capital expenditure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance team and contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Conduct equipment inspections and facilitate repairs.
• Identify faults or hazards and initiate repairs and adjustments.
• Log WHS issues and assist audits with the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform daily and weekly facility inspections to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversee periodic maintenance and calibration of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct risk assessments for potential hazards around the premises.
• Maintain records of maintenance operations and report to upper management.
• Be on call for unplanned issues or emergencies relating to facility maintenance.
