Job summary

Rockpool Residential Aged Care is seeking a Maintenance Officer to oversee the safe, efficient maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds. You will manage a preventative maintenance schedule, respond to reactive requests, coordinate external contractors and ensure WH&S and aged care standards compliance.

In this hands-on role you’ll contribute to resident safety, comfort and dignity daily, with opportunities to improve sustainability and operation across Rockpool facilities in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated experience in a facility or building maintenance role.
• White Card — General Construction Induction (desirable)
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
• Chemical handling knowledge or certification (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute a preventative maintenance schedule across buildings, equipment and grounds
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, prioritising resident safety and comfort
• Troubleshoot and independently resolve minor issues; elevate complex work to specialist contractors
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors for routine and specialised maintenance tasks
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address issues before they scale
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records and documentation
• Ensure full compliance with WH&S requirements, infection control standards and building regulations
• Identify and implement opportunities for sustainability and efficiency improvements
