Job summary

Wyndham Central College is seeking a Maintenance Officer who is self-motivated and capable of manual labour, with strong knowledge of hand and power tools. You will work to build maintenance tasks efficiently and safely, with guidance from the Facilities Manager and a focus on compliance with OHS requirements.

You must be able to work as part of a team or alone, possess a current Working with Children check, and have a practical interest in maintenance. A driver’s license would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Sound and safe working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team or solo.
• Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build maintenance and repairs including carpentry, plastering, plumbing and painting.
• General cleaning and rubbish removal as required.
• Receive and assess maintenance requests and prioritise workloads.
• Implement routine maintenance procedures as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Climb ladders for roof access and gutter cleaning; move college furniture as needed.
• Ensure equipment and machinery are stored securely and cleaned after use.
• Report repairs required to the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain gardens and grounds and keep thoroughfares clear.
