Job summary

Redox in Melbourne is seeking a proactive Maintenance Officer to oversee maintenance for the Laverton North division. The role is hands-on, focusing on safety, efficiency and well‑maintained facilities across multiple locations, including occasional projects across up to three sites within a 2 km radius.

The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented tradesperson with building licenses, 3+ years in facilities management or repairs, welding experience valued, and strong knowledge of building systems

Qualifications

• Detail oriented tradesman with hands-on building/facilities management experience.
• Building licenses or trade qualifications.
• Minimum 3 years in building and/or facilities management, maintenance or repairs.
• Welding experience (oxy and arc) highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and safety regulations.
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage contractors and stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day maintenance across facilities and ensure safety compliance.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules including preventive and corrective work.
• Supervise contractors and support ongoing operations.
• Foster teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
• Prepare maintenance/repair requirements and manage quotations.
• Identify cost-saving maintenance opportunities.
• Oversee vendor relationships and service levels.
• Plan facility improvement projects (renovations, upgrades, repairs).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and health & safety regulations.
• Conduct adhoc inspections and address hazards.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and prepare monthly reports.
