Job summary

Gaayip-Yagila Primary School in Mickleham, VIC seeks a multi-skilled Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Officer to care for gardens, buildings, and safety across the school grounds. The role involves landscape tasks, coordinating building upkeep, and supporting minor projects with the Operations, OHS and Policy Manager.

The position requires attendance during holidays, and a 4 Weeks Annual Leave provision with hours/days negotiable for a dedicated team member.

Qualifications

• Skills/Qualifications in one or more trades highly desirable but not essential.
• Ability to perform a range of maintenance and gardening tasks across the school ground.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape and seasonal garden duties (gardening, blowing leaves, planting, weeding).
• Coordinate maintenance of school buildings and equipment (gutter/roof cleaning, repairs).
• Support minor project development on grounds and in buildings.
• Move furniture and equipment; provide basic cleaning tasks as needed.
• Ensure grounds safety through regular checks of perimeters and playground equipment.
• Maintain OH&S compliance with contractors and leadership.
