Job summary

Mindalk Primary School is seeking a Facilities Manager to coordinate day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and presentation of the school’s buildings, grounds and assets. This ES 1-3 role offers a high degree of independence within school policies, advising leadership on maintenance priorities, compliance, contractors and facilities risks.

You will undertake general grounds work, minor building tasks, ensure safety, maintain storage facilities, and support events with setup and packing away,

Qualifications

• KSC 1: Demonstrated gardening/handyperson aptitude.
• KSC 2: Efficiently manage grounds in a school environment; operate relevant tools/equipment.
• KSC 3: Technical knowledge for minor repairs to school buildings; use of tools.
• KSC 5: Flexible, able to work independently and with minimal supervision within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general grounds and maintenance tasks: mowing, edging, edging, mulching and watering.
• Establish/maintain garden beds and general cleaning of storage facilities; ensure signage for OHS risks.
• Undertake general maintenance and minor building works as directed.
• Check school grounds for safety and maintain OHS documentation.
• Set up and pack away for major events; work with minimal supervision as required.
• Attend quarterly OHS meetings and coordinate procurement of equipment and supplies.
