Job summary

Diamantina Shire Council seeks a skilled Maintenance Officer to join the Infrastructure Services team in Bedourie. The role covers maintaining and repairing Council buildings, housing, facilities and minor infrastructure, with independent work and strong customer service focus.

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, you will manage priorities, operate tools safely, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement practices. A trade background and driver licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building, property or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment safely with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled and responsive maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out carpentry, plumbing, painting, plastering and minor repairs.
• Inspect buildings and facilities and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with condition assessments and refurbishment projects.
• Plan and prioritise maintenance programs and work requests.
