Job summary

RFDS SA/NT is offering a Darwin-based Facilities Officer role to support essential services by overseeing facilities, assets and minor projects across sites and fleet. You will provide practical advice, coordinate maintenance, liaise with contractors and service providers, and ensure facilities meet safety and operational standards with a high degree of autonomy.

Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, you will play a key part in improving service delivery and ensuring facilities are safe,

Qualifications

• Five years’ project, facilities or business management experience within property or similar sectors.
• Experience in facilities management or operations with building services knowledge.
• Exposure to fire, mechanical, plumbing or electrical services.
• Ability to develop maintenance schedules and monitor contractor performance.
• Strong organisational skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, databases and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Prioritising and supporting facilities-related work requests across sites, infrastructure and fleet.
• Review maintenance reports and coordinate remediation works.
• Provide technical trade advice and input on asset issues.
• Coordinate external trades, consultants and service providers.
• Manage minor project works, refurbishments and handovers across sites, buildings and fleet.
• Overseeing budgets, invoices and contractor performance.
• Manage defects liability periods and safety testing.
• Conduct site inspections and service audits.
• Monitor contractor performance and identify service improvements.
• Contribute to WHS, risk, quality and environmental activities.
