Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia / Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) is seeking a Facilities Officer to provide internal technical support for a broad range of facilities matters. You will coordinate maintenance, oversee contractors and manage minor projects to ensure facilities are safe, well maintained and ready to support operations.

You will report to the Senior Facilities Manager and collaborate with the Facilities Management team and stakeholders to deliver practical, timely

Qualifications

• At least five years’ project, facilities or business management experience within the property industry.
• Experience in facilities management or operations, with understanding of building operations and services.
• Exposure to building services such as fire, mechanical, plumbing or electrical services.
• Knowledge of building maintenance issues and relevant trades.
• Experience in contract management and monitoring contractor performance.
• Ability to develop and implement maintenance and servicing schedules or systems.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with ability to manage competing demands.
• Proven problem-solving and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, databases and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prioritising and supporting facilities-related work requests across sites, infrastructure and fleet.
• Reviewing planned maintenance reports and coordinating required remediation works.
• Providing technical trade advice and input on asset issues.
• Working with external trades, consultants and service providers to resolve complex facilities and asset-related issues.
• Managing minor project works and refurbishments across sites, buildings and fleet.
• Overseeing project budgets, invoices and contractor performance.
• Managing defects liability periods, including testing and handovers.
• Conducting site inspections and service audits to ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
• Monitoring contractor performance and identifying service improvements.
• Contributing to WHS, risk management, quality and environmental activities.
