Job description

Why You Will Be Excited About This Role

At Healius, we all have one thing in common – we are passionate about making a difference to the health of Australians. And right now, it is a pretty exciting time to join us, as we transform into a stronger, more agile organisation with a focus on creating excellent customer and patient experiences, smarter ways of working, and continuing our focus on being a great place to work.

You’ll join our Talent & Capability team within our People & Culture function and play a key role in shaping how our people learn, grow and deliver exceptional care. You’ll be at the heart of lifting capability and confidence for pathology collectors and coaches across our national network, helping to define what "great" looks like in both technical practice and customer service.

This is a role where your training experience will translate into real, organisation-wide impact. You’ll be a trusted expert and mentor, influencing the consistency, safety and quality of the care our patients receive every day. If you’re motivated by helping others succeed, enjoy building a strong learning culture and want to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation, you’ll find this role both meaningful and rewarding.

About Us

Healius has an expansive network of over 100 medical laboratories and 2000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.

We provide 1 in every 3 pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia’s largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to small Indigenous Australian communities.

This means that you will be working in a business large enough to offer you job stability & security, interstate mobility and the opportunity to fulfil your career ambitions.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Facilitator, you will deliver consistent, high-quality training and assessment that builds the capability, confidence and performance of pathology collectors and coaches across our network. You’ll combine your pathology expertise, facilitation skills and understanding of compliance to deliver safe, professional and customer-focused learning experiences.

  • Facilitate engaging training sessions (virtual and face-to-face) to onboard, upskill and develop new and existing pathology collectors.

  • Conduct competency assessments in line with the National Certification Framework and NATA requirements.

  • Coach and mentor coaches, building confidence and consistency in how they train and assess collectors the Healius Way.

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing evolution of a consistent national training curriculum.

  • Maintain accurate training, assessment and competency records in line with quality and compliance standards.

  • Work closely with Managers, Quality and Operations teams to ensure training aligns with SOPs, policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods, including refreshing content and leveraging digital tools where appropriate.

What Type Of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector who enjoys sharing your knowledge and has a genuine passion for developing others. You bring an engaging, empathetic facilitation style, strong professionalism and the ability to lead by example while maintaining high technical and quality standards.

This role will suit someone who approaches challenges with a solutions-focused mindset, is committed to continuously improving the learner experience, and is flexible to work across multiple sites and operational environments. Occasional travel to Adelaide, Regional Victoria and Interstate required from time to time.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience as a Pathology Collector (essential), with exposure to specialist collections such as Drug & Alcohol screening and/or Paediatrics highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated experience training, coaching or developing others, with a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (TAE)

  • Strong people development skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback and actively engage learners.

  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.

  • Confidence using technology, including MS Office and exposure to online or blended learning environments.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites, including regional and interstate locations.

  • Initiative and accountability to identify improvement opportunities and contribute to enhanced training outcomes.
