Gibson Freight (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking an Export Operations Specialist to join our Sydney team. You will focus on sea freight operations with exposure to import operations and potential airfreight learning, taking ownership of the export function within a fast-paced, family-owned freight forwarder.

You will build strong client relationships, coordinate with internal teams, and work to grow the division while delivering high-standard service to international sports and entertainment

Responsabilidades

• Manage export shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Maintain and build relationships with export clients
• Identify and support new business and growth opportunities

• Prepare accurate and compliant export documentation
• Liaise with overseas agents to ensure consistent service delivery
• Negotiate rates with shipping lines and airlines
• Work with warehouse teams on receivals, loading and screening
• Ensure shipments are handled efficiently and commercially

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity fora positive and enthusiastic candidate who is early into their freight forwarding journey, with a specific interest in an operational position.

Whilst the role is focused predominantly on sea freight operations, there will be some exposure to import operations (which you will be trained in, if necessary). In addition, as you develop, we would also offer the opportunity to learn airfreight operations, making this the perfect development position for an all-rounder.

You will be encouraged to take ownership of the export function, contribute ideas, strengthen client relationships, and play a key role in growing the division over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage export shipments from booking through to final delivery




• Maintain and build strong relationships with export clients




• Identify and support new business and growth opportunities




• Coordinate freight collections with internal transport teams




• Prepare accurate and compliant export documentation




• Liaise with overseas agents to ensure consistent service delivery

• Work closely with internal warehouse teams on receivals, loading, and screening




• Ensure shipments are handled efficiently and commercially

Skills & Experience

• Experience in sea (and/or air) freight forwarding (at least 1-2 years export experience preferred)




• Strong customer service and communication skills




• High level of organisation and attention to detail




• A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to take initiative




• Willingness to learn, grow, and take on responsibility




• Commercial awareness or an interest in developing this skillset




• Current Australian driver’s licence

Experience with CargoWise will be highly regarded, though not essential.
