Job summary

Aeris Resources is seeking an Exploration Field Technician for Cracow Gold Operations in central Queensland. You will report to the Field Supervisor and support day-to-day exploration activities, ensuring targets and scheduled works are completed on time and safely.

The role involves collecting samples from RC and diamond drilling, core yard handling, field surveys, and remote site work. A strong safety mindset and ability to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

  • MR/HR drivers licence required.
  • Outdoor work experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual labour.
  • Ability to use digital devices for data entry.
  • Self-discipline, motivation and regulation.
  • Strong safety awareness and proactive approach to working safely.
  • Attention to detail, methodical and thorough in approach.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • High Risk forklift licence (Highly Regarded).
  • First Aid certificate (Highly Regarded).

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples from RC drill rigs, including chip tray, sample dispatch, and accurate data entry.
  • Core yard processing and keeping the area clean and organized.
  • Collection of Diamond drill core trays, core mark-up, cutting, sampling, density determination, dispatch, geotechnical logging and data entry.
  • Remote fieldwork including soil geochemical surveys, mapping and rock chip sampling, and geophysical surveys.
  • Assist with earthworks for drill pads and access tracks and ensure rehabilitation of disturbed areas is completed safely and per environmental standards.
  • Monitor, order and maintain consumables for drilling and field programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and cultural heritage permitting, procedures and standards.

We've got the rocks covered but we're looking for a few more incredible people to join our team at Cracow as an Exploration Field Technician.

The Nitty Gritty

Reporting to the Field Supervisor you will be responsible for: supporting the day-to-day activities of the exploration team and ensuring targets and scheduled works are completed in set time frames and undertaken respectfully and safely

You will work to support, coordinate and ensure completion of:

  • Collection of samples from RC drill rigs, including chip traying, sample dispatch, data entry in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Core yard processing and cleanliness
  • Collection of Diamond drill core trays from the drill rigs, drill core mark-up, drill core cutting, sampling, density determination, sample dispatch, geotechnical logging, and data entry in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Remote fieldwork including soil geochemical surveys, mapping and rock chip sampling, and geophysical surveys.
  • Assist with earthworks for drill pads and access tracks and also ensure the rehabilitation of surface disturbance areas is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with environmental standards, including maintenance of rehabilitation (rehab) records.
  • Help monitor, order and maintain consumables for all mining and exploration drilling and field programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and cultural heritage permitting, procedures, and standards.
What You'll Bring
  • MR/HR Drivers Licence.
  • Previous outdoors work experience preferred,
  • The ability to perform repetitive manual labour activities is essential.
  • Ability to use digital devices to complete Data Entry (laptop computer and/or digital pads)
  • Self-discipline, motivation, and regulation.
  • Strong safety awareness and proactive approach to working safely.
  • Attention to detail, methodical and thorough in approach.
