SHINNA TOUR PTY.LTD in Cairns is seeking an experienced Tour Guide to deliver high-quality sightseeing, cultural and educational tours for domestic and international visitors. You will greet guests, present engaging commentary, and ensure safe, informative experiences across a variety of local attractions.

The role requires strong communication, reliability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Tour Guide or similar role.
  • Able to plan and conduct guided tours with engaging commentary.
  • Strong knowledge of local attractions, history and culture.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet visitors with a professional, welcoming introduction.
  • Plan, organise and conduct sightseeing, cultural and regional tours.
  • Escort visitors and manage itineraries and schedules.
  • Provide informative commentary on destinations and attractions.
  • Answer questions and assist with safety and logistics during tours.
  • Coordinate transportation and entry to attractions when required.
  • Maintain records and ensure high-quality customer service.

SHINNA TOUR PTY.LTD is a well-established company located in Cairns. We specialise in providing high-quality sightseeing, cultural, educational and guided tour experiences for domestic and international visitors. Our services include organised day tours, sightseeing tours, regional excursions and customised tour experiences.

We are seeking an experienced Tour Guide whois reliable, professional, friendly and customer-focused. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a genuine commitment to providing safe, informative and enjoyable experiences for our guests.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

The Roles

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting and greeting visitors and providing a professional and welcoming introduction to the tour
  • Planning, organising and conducting sightseeing, educational, cultural and regional tours
  • Escorting visitors throughout tours and ensuring activities follow the planned itinerary
  • Providing informative commentary and explaining the history, culture, features and significance of local attractions and points of interest
  • Answering visitor questions and providing accurate information about destinations, attractions and tour activities
  • Planning and rearranging tour schedules and itineraries when required
  • Coordinating transportation arrangements and arranging entry to attractions and places of interest
  • Maintaining attendance records, booking information and other relevant tour documentation
  • Monitoring visitor safety and providing clear instructions and assistance throughout tours
  • Providing high-quality customer service and handling visitor enquiries or concerns in a professional manner
The position Requires

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment.

  • Relevant qualification such as AQF Certificate II or III in Tourism, Travel, Hospitality or a related field, or relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience working as a Tour Guide, Tour Escort, Tour Leader or in a similar role
  • Experience planning, organising and conducting guided tours
  • Good knowledge of local attractions, destinations, history, culture and points of interest
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide clear, informative and engaging commentary
  • Ability to manage tour schedules, itineraries and visitor groups
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence preferred, where driving duties are required
