Job summary

Equal Grounds Support Services in Gladstone, Queensland, is seeking a casual Support Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care to older adults and people with disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, accompany clients to events, and support their quality of life.

The role requires 1+ years of experience in a similar position or a Certificate III in Individual Support for those new to the field.

Equal Grounds Support Services are seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our growing team in Gladstone, Queensland.

As a casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and individualised care to our clients, many of whom are older adults or have a disability. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and skill-building programs.
• Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events
• Providing emotional support and engaging clients in meaningful activities to improve their quality of life
• Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support
• Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• A genuine passion for supporting older adults and individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
• Previous experience in a similar role, or a relevant qualification in community services or aged care
• Minimum of 1+ years experience in a similar support worker role is required
• Candidates without experience must hold a Certificate III Individual Support qualification
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, public holidays and Sleepovers
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
• A willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check
• Working with Children Check must be obtained before starting work
