Job summary

Dementia Care Queensland is seeking compassionate support workers for a casual role in Ashgrove, Brisbane. You will assist with daily tasks, provide social support, and help clients live independently in the local community.

Ideal candidates have qualifications in aged care or disability support, with experience in caring for the elderly or people with disabilities. A current driver's license and First Aid certification are required, with flexible, independent work capability and teamwork prized.

Job description

Seeking compassionate and dedicated support workers to join our team at Dementia Care Queensland in Ashgrove, Brisbane, Queensland. This is a casual role supporting adults with disabilities and the elderly in our local community. You will play a vital part in helping our clients live independently and improve their quality of life.

What you'll be doing

Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry

Provide social and emotional support, engaging clients in activities and outings

Advocate for clients and liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders

Maintain accurate client records and documentation

Adhere to workplace policies, procedures, and quality standards

What we're looking for

Relevant qualifications in aged care, disability support, or a related field

Certificate III in aged care, disability support, or a related field is optimal

Previous experience working with the elderly or people with disabilities

Minimum of 6 months' experience working with the elderly or people with disabilities is optimal

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives

Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team

A current driver's licence and access to reliable transport

Current First Aid certification is required at commencement

Candidates must have valid Australian work authorisation to be eligible for this position.
