Job summary

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP) is seeking an Experienced Pathology Specimen Collector in Townsville to join our diagnostic services team. The role covers patient care, safe collection of specimens (blood, urine, etc.), and strict sample handling in a fast-paced environment with weekday shifts and weekend/public holiday rosters.

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive paid training program and receive an SNP training certificate on completion, with opportunities to grow within

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, aged care, community services or customer service.
• Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection highly regarded.
• Willingness to obtain advanced specimen collection skills such as Respiratory Swabs/ABP/Holters.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient care & customer service, answering questions and easing concerns.
• Collect biological specimens (blood, urine, etc.) in a safe, professional manner.
• Label, handle, and process samples in line with strict protocols.

Experienced Pathology Specimen Collector

We are looking for the right people to work as Pathology Specimen Collectors within the Townsville area, between the hours Monday-Friday varying shifts from 6.30am - 6pm with participation in weekend and public holiday rosters

Key Responsibilities

Provide outstanding patient care & customer service, answering questions and easing concerns

Collect biological specimens (blood, urine, etc.) in a safe, professional manner

Label, handle, and process samples in line with strict protocols

Maintain a clean and organised collection environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Experience in healthcare, aged care, community services or customer service. A Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection is highly regarded.

Advanced skills of Respiratory Swabs, Advanced Paediatrics, ABP, Holters, Arterial Blood Gases or willingness to obtain.

Confidence to work independently, including in solo collection centres

Strong time management and problem-solving skills

A willingness to learn and enjoy variety in your day

A current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain before end of Probation period)
