Job summary

Uniplan is looking for an experienced or qualified Tiler to join our production team in Armidale. The role focuses on bathrooms, laundries, kitchens and other tiled areas, mostly within our Armidale manufacturing facility.

We seek someone with a minimum of 5 years’ tiling experience in Australia, delivering high-quality workmanship across tiling and waterproofing. You must complete wet areas from preparation and waterproofing through to the finished tiled surface, in a fast-paced construction

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ tiling experience in Australia.
• High standard of workmanship across tiling and waterproofing.
• Confident completing wet areas from preparation and waterproofing through to the finished tiled surface.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high‑quality finish.
• Construction White Card.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production and construction team.

Responsibilities

• Complete waterproofing of wet areas to relevant Australian Standards.
• Prepare surfaces ready for waterproofing and tiling.
• Lay cement beds and create correct falls for graded floors.
• Accurately set out floor and wall tiles.
• Lay and grout graded bathroom floors.
• Lay and grout level floors, wall tiles and splashbacks.
• Complete silicone sealing and finishing.
• Identify and rectify quality issues before completion.
• Follow standardised production processes to achieve efficient, consistent results.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams.

About the Role

As a Tiler at Uniplan, you will work across our new modular homes and commercial buildings, completing bathrooms, laundries, kitchens and other tiled areas.

Unlike traditional construction, the majority of your work is completed in our Armidale manufacturing facility, providing a clean, organised and consistent working environment without travelling between multiple job sites.

Core Responsibilities

• Complete waterproofing of wet areas to relevant Australian Standards
• Prepare surfaces ready for waterproofing and tiling
• Lay cement beds and create correct falls for graded floors
• Accurately set out floor and wall tiles
• Lay and grout graded bathroom floors
• Lay and grout level floors, wall tiles and splashbacks
• Complete silicone sealing and finishing
• Identify and rectify quality issues before completion
• Follow standardised production processes to achieve efficient, consistent results
• Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• Minimum 5 years’ tiling experience working in Australia
• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality tiling and waterproofing
• Strong knowledge of wet‑area preparation, waterproofing, falls and finishes
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high‑quality finish
• Construction White Card
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production and construction team
• Reliability, initiative and a strong commitment to workplace safety

A formal tiling trade qualification is highly regarded but not essential where you can demonstrate significant relevant Australian industry experience.
