Job summary

WA Standard Tiling and Stone is a Perth-based tiling and waterproofing contractor delivering residential and commercial projects across the Perth metropolitan area. We are seeking an Experienced Commercial & Residential Tiler / Water proofer to join our team in a full-time capacity.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting out tiling areas, wall and floor tiling with ceramic, porcelain and stone, and waterproofing bathrooms and wet areas to AS 3740/4654 where relevant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ tiling experience on residential and commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ceramic, porcelain, stone and feature tiles.
• Experience with waterproofing wet areas and AS standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read architectural drawings, plans and finish schedules to guide tiling work.
• Tile walls and floors using ceramic, porcelain, stone and feature tiles with precision.
• Waterproof wet areas and install membrane systems as required.

About Us

WA Standard Tiling and Stone is a Perth-based tiling and waterproofing contractor working across both residential and commercial projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

We are looking for experienced and reliable Wall & Floor Tilers, Waterproofers and Screeders to join our growing team.

This role is suited to tilers who take pride in their workmanship, understand construction drawings and specifications, and can consistently deliver a high-quality finish on site.

About the Role

You will be involved in a variety of residential and commercial projects, including new homes, apartments, commercial buildings, bathrooms, wet areas, balconies, terraces and other specialist tiling works.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, plans, specifications and finish schedules
• Wall and floor tiling using ceramic, porcelain, stone and feature tiles
• Setting out and accurately measuring tiling areas
• Cutting and installing tiles accurately and efficiently
• Screeding floors to the required levels and falls
• Preparing substrates and applying primers
• Waterproofing bathrooms, wet areas, balconies and other required areas
• Installing waterproofing membranes in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications
• Understanding and working to AS 3740 and AS 4654 requirements where applicable
• Installing floor wastes, puddle flanges and other wet-area details
• Producing consistent and accurate tile joints
• Completing mitred edges with a neat and consistent finish
• Grouting tiled areas to a high standard
• Installing silicone with a clean, smooth and professional finish
• Identifying and reporting site issues before commencing work
• Following drawings, tile selections and construction details
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work area
• Completing daily work scopes within the required timeframe

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for experience tilers with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, with strong preference for candidates who have experience working on both commercial and residential projects.

You should have:

• Proven experience in wall and floor tiling
• Strong knowledge of ceramic, porcelain, stone and feature tiles
• Experience with screeding and achieving correct floor falls
• Experience with waterproofing wet areas
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail
• High standards for grout, mitres and silicone finishes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow instructions and project requirements
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, honest and positive attitude
• Strong work ethic and commitment to completing work on schedule
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workplace
• Full Australian driver’s license and reliable transport
