Job summary

Latrobe City Council’s Moe Depot is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Employee – Urban Parks Maintenance to join the City Presentation team. You will undertake turf, grass and open space maintenance across parks, reserves and Council-managed areas, operating ride-on mowers, tractors and other equipment.

This full-time role offers an outdoor, hands-on environment with a 9‑day fortnight roster, flexible arrangements where possible, and a commitment to safety and community spaces.

Qualifications

• Proven turf and grass maintenance experience.
• Experience operating ride-on mowers, tractors and similar equipment.
• Knowledge of OH&S requirements and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Undertake turf, grass and open space maintenance across parks and reserves.
• Safely operate and maintain plant and equipment used in turf maintenance.
• Perform routine horticultural maintenance and mowing activities.
• Assist across maintenance operations as needed to meet priorities.
• Ensure works meet Council service standards and safety rules.
• Contribute to customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement.

We're looking for an Experienced Maintenance Employee –Urban Parks Maintenance to join our City Presentation team. In this role,you'll help maintain and enhance Council's open spaces, parks and reservesthrough a range of turf, grass and horticultural maintenance activities thatkeep our municipality looking its best.

What You'll Be Doing

• Undertaketurf, grass and open space maintenance across parks, reserves and otherCouncil-managed areas.
• Safelyoperate and maintain plant and equipment including ride-on mowers,tractors, brush cutters and other specialised maintenance equipment.
• Performgeneral horticultural maintenance and routine turf and grass mowingactivities.
• Assistacross maintenance operations throughout the municipality when workpriorities require.
• Ensureall works are completed safely and to Council's required servicestandards.
• Contributeto a culture of customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a motivated and reliable maintenance professionalwho enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.You have experience in turf and grass maintenance, can operate a range of plantand equipment safely and effectively, and enjoy working as part of a team toachieve great outcomes for the community.

Key Selection Criteria

• Practicalexperience performing turf and grass maintenance for a Municipal Councilor similar-sized operation.
• Provenexperience in the safe and competent operation of plant and equipment usedin turf and grass maintenance.
• Soundknowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and the abilityto follow policies, procedures and safe work practices.
• Demonstratedcommitment to customer service, teamwork, continuous improvement andCouncil values.
• CurrentMedium Rigid Vehicle Licence.
• ConstructionInduction (White Card).
• CurrentTraffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate.
• CurrentFarm Chemical User/Herbicide Application Certificate.
• Practicalexperience in turf and grass maintenance and/or general horticulturalmaintenance.
• CurrentFirst Aid Certificate.
