Job summary

Penrith City Council is seeking a Team Leader in landscape maintenance to supervise and coordinate a crew responsible for parks, gardens and public spaces across the City. The role focuses on delivering high-quality outdoor spaces and leading day-to-day maintenance activities.

You will work with supervisors and co-workers to plan and execute maintenance tasks, ensure safety, and support ongoing development within council operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in landscape maintenance.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and allocate work.
• Experience planning and coordinating day-to-day activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of minor plant and equipment used in landscape maintenance.
• White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry).
• Current Class C or MR driver licence.
• Knowledge of WHS and EEO principles.

The must-know bits

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

• Extensive experience in Landscape Maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and allocate work
• Experience in planning and coordinating day to day activities
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
• Demonstrated knowledge of minor plant and equipment used in Landscape Maintenance
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
• A current Class C or MR driver licence
• Knowledge of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles

Desirable Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in Horticulture or related area
