Job summary

Maura Medical Centre in Bendigo is seeking an experienced Registered Practice Nurse to join its new general practice. You will move between treatment room care, immunisation, preventive health and chronic disease support, while ensuring clinical systems are safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through Ahpra.
• Demonstrated recent experience as an RN in Australian general practice.
• Confidence across treatment room procedures, patient assessment, preventive health and chronic disease support.
• Current immunisation qualifications and authorisation appropriate to Victoria and the role.
• Understanding of cold chain management, infection prevention, clinical risk and emergency response.
• Experience using general practice clinical and practice management software.
• Strong clinical judgement, organisation and patient education skills.
• Commitment to privacy, cultural safety, professional boundaries and patient centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care within your registration, competence and scope.
• Assess patients, undertake clinical observations and escalate concerns promptly.
• Provide wound care, venepuncture, ECGs, spirometry and other basic GP investigations.
• Assist with minor procedures and support acute presentations and emergency response.
• Deliver immunisation services and maintain vaccine storage, documentation and cold chain processes.
• Support health assessments, chronic disease management, recalls and preventive health activities.
• Coordinate referrals, investigations and follow up within agreed responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate electronic clinical records.
• Keep the treatment room, emergency equipment and stock organised and ready.
• Contribute ideas to improve workflows, protocols and checklists.
• Participate in infection control, clinical risk, accreditation and quality improvement.
