Maura Medical Centre in Bendigo is seeking an experienced Registered Practice Nurse to join its new general practice. You will move between treatment room care, immunisation, preventive health and chronic disease support, while ensuring clinical systems are safe and reliable.
The clinic values honesty, reliability, dignity and respect, and warmth in everyday patient interactions, with privacy at the forefront. You will work collaboratively to establish safe, workable nursing systems.
Maura Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Practice Nurse to join its new general practice in Bendigo.
This role needs someone who understands how general practice works day to day. You will be comfortable moving between treatment room care, immunisation, preventive health, chronic disease support, clinical administration and patient follow up. You will also bring the judgement and organisation needed to keep clinical systems safe and reliable.
Just as importantly, the clinic is looking for a nurse whose approach reflects its values:
Honesty and humility | Reliability | Dignity and respect | Kindness and warmth
These values are intended to be visible in everyday interactions. They mean communicating openly, following through, protecting each patient’s privacy and dignity and helping create a calm and welcoming experience for patients, families and colleagues.
You do not need to arrive knowing everything. You do need to recognise the limits of your scope, ask questions when needed and respond constructively to feedback. The clinic values confidence without arrogance and experience that is shared generously.

Working closely with the Practice Coordinator, Clinic Director and GPs, you will:
provide safe, evidence based nursing care within your registration, competence and scope
assess patients, undertake clinical observations and escalated concerns promptly
provide wound care, venepuncture, ECGs, spirometry and other general practice investigations where trained and competent
assist with minor procedures and support acute presentations and emergency response
deliver immunisation services and maintain reliable vaccine storage, documentation and cold chain processes
support health assessments, chronic disease management, recalls and preventive health activities
coordinate referrals, investigations and follow up within agreed responsibilities
maintain accurate and meaningful electronic clinical records
keep the treatment room, emergency equipment and clinical stock organised and ready
contribute practical ideas as the clinic develops its protocols, checklists and workflows
participate in infection control, clinical risk, accreditation and quality improvement activities.
Because this is a growing clinic, your experience will help shape how the nursing function operates. This is not about expecting one person to carry the practice. It is about working collaboratively and using your general practice knowledge to help establish systems that are safe, workable and consistent.
You will be suited to this role if you have recent Australian general practice nursing experience and can contribute confidently from commencement.
You will need:
current Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through Ahpra
demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Australian general practice
confidence across treatment room procedures, patient assessment, preventive health and chronic disease support
current immunisation qualifications and authorisation appropriate to Victoria and the role
a sound understanding of cold chain management, infection prevention, clinical risk and emergency response
experience using general practice clinical and practice management software
strong clinical judgement, organisation and patient education skills
a commitment to privacy, cultural safety, professional boundaries and patient centred care.
Experience with MediRecords or a comparable clinical system would be useful. Experience with venepuncture, wound care, spirometry, ECGs, cervical screening support, minor procedures, recalls, accreditation and quality improvement would also be well regarded.
Beyond your clinical skills, the clinic is looking for someone who is dependable, attentive and team-minded. You will notice when follow up is needed, communicate clearly and remain calm and practical when priorities compete.
You will also be curious and willing to improve things. If a workflow could be safer or more efficient, you will raise it constructively and help the team find a practical solution.
