Job summary

Equipped Civil in South Australia is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator/Labourer to join our growing team on-site. You will operate 2–20T excavators and assist with on-site labouring, pipe laying, backfilling and general civil tasks.

The role requires digging around underground assets, reading site plans, setting levels and lasers, and a strong safety mindset. Nights, weekends and overtime may be required; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Excavator ticket and MR license required.
• Experience digging around underground assets.
• Willingness to perform labouring duties on site.
• Familiarity with infrastructure such as electrical, communications, storm water and sewer.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Night, weekend and overtime availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate 2–20T excavators safely and efficiently.
• Assist with site preparation, pipe laying, backfilling and general labouring on site.
• Dig around underground assets and infrastructure.
• Read site plans, mark out surveys and set levels/lasers.
• Maintain high safety standards on site.

About The Role

Equipped Civil are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator / Labourer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident on machines and willing to assist with labouring duties on site.

To be successful in this role you will have experience;

• digging around underground assets in Civil Construction


• operating 2-20T excavators efficiently and safely


• assisting with site preparation, pipe laying, backfilling, and general labouring


• in digging around infrastructure specialising in electrical, communications, storm water and sewer


• running and completing tasks without supervision.

This role is not suitable for operators wanting to operate over 20T excavators and those with experience only in bulk excavation.

Skills And Experience

• Excavator Ticket | White Card Essential


• Experience with digging around underground assets


• MR License Minimum


• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.


• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.


• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.


• Skills in reading site plans, marking out surveys, and setting levels/lasers


• Current First Aid & CPR desirable


• A hard-working, positive can-do attitude and good work ethic


• Excellent knowledge of workplace health and safety.
