63 Degrees is seeking an Experienced Café Manager to lead our Geelong West café. This full-time role requires overseeing day-to-day operations, staff leadership, and delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining efficiency and profitability.

You will drive service excellence, manage budgets, ensure food safety compliance and contribute to menu planning. A passion for coffee and hospitality with 3–5 years in management is ideal.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in café or hospitality management.
• Knowledge of espresso machine operation and specialty coffee.

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Café Manager to join our team at our Geelong West location. This is a full-time position that will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our café, ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences whilst maintaining operational efficiency and profitability. As Café Manager, you will lead and inspire our team, manage all aspects of café operations, and play a key role in achieving our business objectives and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the hospitality industry.

Key responsibilities

Oversee all daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management and stock control

Lead, supervise, motivate and develop a team of café staff, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer service consistently

Manage scheduling, training, performance management and payroll administration for team members

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and health and safety compliance across all areas of the café

Manage customer relations and resolve any concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner

Monitor financial performance, manage budgets and work towards profitability targets

Implement and maintain quality control standards for food and beverage preparation

Liaise with suppliers and manage ordering of food, beverages and equipment

Ensure the café environment is clean, well-maintained and welcoming to customers at all times

Contribute to menu planning and promotional activities to drive customer engagement and sales

What we're looking for

Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in a café or hospitality management role

Strong knowledge of café operations, including espresso machine operation and specialty coffee preparation

Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, controlling costs and achieving profitability targets

Comprehensive understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and health and safety regulations relevant to the hospitality sector

Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to create positive customer experiences

Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to multitask effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally

A genuine passion for the café and hospitality industry

Current or ability to obtain relevant certifications such as Food Safety Supervisor or RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification would be advantageous
