Job summary

Careerone Partner Network in Brighton, South Australia is seeking an experienced Cook to join a busy kitchen in a popular café. You will prepare and cook a diverse range of meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes, while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation and food safety.

The role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a minimum of one year in a commercial kitchen, café or restaurant.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Cook within a commercial kitchen, café or restaurant.
• Experience preparing beef, pork, poultry, seafood and vegetarian dishes.
• Ability to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary requirements.
• Experience following recipes, portion control and presentation standards while maintaining quality.
• Sound knowledge of Australian food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes including beef, pork, poultry, seafood and vegetarian meals.
• Prepare ingredients and complete food prep to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines.
• Prepare meals to meet dietary requirements including vegan and gluten-free options.
• Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and finished dishes.
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory control and ordering while minimising waste.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and assist with training of kitchen staff.
