Job summary

The Kyn in Torquay is seeking an experienced bartender to join our team. Hours: 30–32hrs per week. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant and solid knowledge of cocktails.

You will prepare and serve drinks to a high standard, assist with inventory, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations. RSA is required; evenings, weekends and public holidays availability is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in a high-volume, fast-paced bar or restaurant.
• Knowledge of cocktail-making.
• Wine, beer, spirits knowledge.
• Up-to-date RSA certificate.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
• Outgoing and engaging personality with strong communication.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drinks to a high standard.
• Provide recommendations based on customer preferences and menu offerings.
• Maintain inventory and assist in monitoring stock levels of bar supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area.
• Adhere to all applicable alcohol service regulations and guidelines, ensuring responsible beverage service.
• Greet guests warmly and process payments accurately using our systems and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with bar staff, servers, and kitchen team members to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
• Perform opening and closing duties according to established procedures.
