Job summary

Mermaid Beach Surf Club is opening a brand-new beachfront café across from Hedges Avenue, offering ample hours across both the new café and Merlina's Restaurant upstairs.

We are seeking Baristas and Hospitality Professionals who craft coffee, handle busy service, and contribute to a welcoming team, with RSA/RSG and at least two years in barista and bar roles. Join a community-focused club open seven days and help build a standout guest experience from day one.

Qualifications

• RSA/RSG certificates required and any other relevant certificates.
• Minimum 2 years' barista experience.
• Minimum 2 years' bar experience behind a bar or service floor.
• Deep coffee knowledge including brewing techniques, latte art and equipment handling.
• Confidence pouring beer, wine, spirits and basic cocktails.
• Excellent presentation and attention to detail.

Mermaid Beach Surf Club | Ample Hours Available

An exciting new chapter is beginning at Mermaid Beach Surf Club. We're opening a brand-new beachfront café on iconic Hedges Avenue, and we're looking for exceptional Baristas and Hospitality Professionals to work across both the new café and our award-winning Merlina's Restaurant upstairs.

This is a dual-venue role, which means variety, plenty of hours and the chance to be part of something special from day one. Ample hours are available for the right applicant with the right skills.

About Us

Mermaid Beach Surf Club is home to the award-winning Merlina's Restaurant, a vibrant bar, 24 gaming machines, and TAB and Keno facilities. We trade seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with breakfast Friday to Sunday. Our new café, right on the beach on Hedges Avenue, will operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and is set to become a destination for locals and visitors alike.

About You

You treat coffee as a craft, not a task. You're just as confident behind the bar as you are on the coffee machine, and you move easily between a busy café service and a restaurant floor. You're organised, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering every cup, every drink and every customer interaction to the highest standard.

You genuinely enjoy looking after people, you're passionate about the industry, you lead by example, and you know that having fun as a team is just as important as delivering exceptional service.

What You'll Bring

• Current RSA and RSG, plus any other relevant certificates
