Job summary

Health Workforce Queensland invites an Exercise Physiologist in Beaudesert (New Grad or Experienced) to join a multidisciplinary team across Beaudesert, Jimboomba and Yarrabilba clinics. You will develop and deliver individualised exercise programs and support clients with chronic conditions and complex needs.

The role is permanent full time (38 hours/week) with a competitive salary of $68,000 plus superannuation, plus a $3,000 annual PD allowance and mentorship from senior clinicians to foster

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology is required.
• AEP accreditation with ESSA is required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Current driver's licence is required.
• Open to learning and working autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering individualised exercise programs to support health, rehabilitation and functional outcomes.
• Prescribe safe and effective exercise interventions across funding streams including NDIS, DVA, WorkCover, CTP and private patients.
• Conduct functional assessments and monitor client progress against treatment goals.
• Support clients with injury prevention, health promotion and chronic disease management.
• Consult with other health professionals regarding client needs and progress.
• Provide education and guidance to clients and families regarding exercise and self-management strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
• Develop and implement preventative health and wellness programs.

Education

Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) accreditation with ESSA

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Current driver's licence

This well-respected allied health provider operates across multiple locations throughout South Brisbane and the Scenic Rim. The multidisciplinary team includes physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, dietitians, remedial massage therapists and traditional Chinese acupuncturists.

Job tasks and responsibilities include:

• Working with an experienced multidisciplinary allied health team.
• Assessing and managing clients with chronic disease, musculoskeletal conditions, sporting injuries, disabilities, neurological conditions and complex health presentations.
• Developing and delivering individualised exercise programs to support health, rehabilitation and functional outcomes.
• Prescribing safe and effective exercise interventions for clients across a range of funding streams including NDIS, DVA, WorkCover, CTP and private patients.
• Conducting functional assessments and monitoring client progress against treatment goals.
• Supporting clients with injury prevention, health promotion and chronic disease management.
• Consulting with other health professionals regarding client needs and progress.
• Providing education and guidance to clients and their families regarding exercise and self-management strategies.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records.
• Developing and implementing preventative health and wellness programs.
• Assisting with administration and marketing activities including newsletters, articles, photography and social media.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology.
• Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) accreditation with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current driver's licence.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physiotherapists, allied health professionals and administrative staff.
