Job summary

Terra Mining Pty is seeking an accomplished underground mining leader to fill the Senior Project Director – Underground Contract Mining role, reporting to the COO. You will guide strategic growth, mobilise major contracts and build a high-performance leadership team across Australia.

You will champion safety, integrity and commercial delivery while fostering client partnerships and operational excellence as Terra Mining expands nationally with the support of JCHX Mining Management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years' experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in senior operational or executive leadership positions.
• Proven experience mobilising underground mining projects from contract award to steady-state.
• Experience leading multiple underground contract mining operations or major underground projects.
• Extensive experience managing operational performance, commercial outcomes and project profitability.
• Experience operating within Australian mining legislation, Work Health and Safety legislation and contractor management obligations.
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Terra Mining's underground growth strategy.
• Lead strategic relationships with clients, tender submissions, contract negotiations and project mobilisation.
• Provide senior leadership across Terra Mining's underground portfolio, ensuring safe, profitable delivery.
• Assume full operational and commercial accountability for assigned underground projects.
• Lead mobilisation of new mining contracts from award through to operations.
• Develop annual business plans, budgets and long-term growth strategies for the underground business.
• Champion safety leadership, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Build, mentor and develop high-performing leadership teams for sustained growth.
• Drive operational excellence through innovation and continuous improvement.
