Job summary

Thiess is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for the Koolyanobbing site in Western Australia. Join our production mining team to operate PC1250 excavators, load dump trucks, and support benching and batter design in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

You will be part of a permanent full-time role with development opportunities, a 2:1 roster (7 days on, 7 days off), and full camp facilities. Commitment to safety and quality is essential for success on site.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years mining experience as mining production excavator in hard rock mining
• Experience operating PC1250 is essential
• Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production environment
• Sound knowledge of ore mark ups and pit configurations
• Skills to mine out benches and cutting batters, with batter angle adherence
• Proven commitment to health and safety at all times

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator in production mining to support loading operations
• Follow pit configurations and ore markups during mining
• Maintain strict health and safety standards on site
• Coordinate with haulage teams for timely dump truck loading
• Adhere to the 2:1 roster and FIFO/DIDO arrangements where applicable

About the Project

Koolyanobbing is in the Shire of Yilgarn, Western Australia, 54 km north-northeast of the town of Southern Cross.

Thiess, Yilgarn Iron Ore Project is a Brownfields mining operation that includes the sites of Koolyanobbing, Windarling and Parker Range.

Thiess are currently seeking applications from experienced Excavator Operators to proudly represent our Production Mining Team. About you

• Minimum of 3-5 years mining experience as mining production excavator in hard rock mining
• Equivalent to or specific experience operating PC1250 is essential
• Experience in loading dump trucks in a mining production environment essential
• Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration
• Skills to mine out benches and cutting batters, leaving minimal amount of material for final trim to design of batter angle
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
