Job summary

Sydney Water Tanks & BIOSeptic is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator with a Certificate III in Plumbing or drainage experience and a current HR or HC licence. Join a family‑owned Australian company delivering wastewater systems and underground tanks across Greater Sydney, regional NSW and ACT.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will safely operate excavators on varied sites, read plans, install tanks and pipework, and support installation teams with drainage and plumbing work.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Plumbing with relevant drainage experience.
• Demonstrated excavator operating experience.
• Current HR licence (HC preferred).
• Current White Card.
• Experience transporting excavators or construction equipment.
• Experience undertaking plumbing, drainage, trenching or underground‑services work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating excavators on residential, rural and commercial sites.
• Excavating tank holes to precise depths using laser levels.
• Excavating trenches, drainage lines and irrigation areas to specified levels.
• Installing wastewater treatment systems, septic tanks, collection wells and underground water tanks.
• Completing plumbing and drainage work associated with each installation.
• Installing and connecting pipework, pumps and associated system components.
• Reading and interpreting site and construction plans.
• Conducting daily pre‑start checks and reporting equipment or site issues.
