MacKellar is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our production team near Nyngan, NSW. You will operate 120T+ excavators and D9+ dozers to load haul trucks and follow mine plans.

This full-time role offers a 7/7 rotating day/night roster, long-term permanent employment, and ongoing training within a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating 120T+ excavators.
• Experience operating D9+ dozers.
• Proven open-cut mining experience.
• Current RII competencies or verifiable operating history.

Responsibilities

• Operate 120T+ excavators and D9+ dozers to load haul trucks.
• Follow mine plans and maintain high safety and productivity standards.
• Complete pre-starts and routine inspections, report faults.
• Work with Supervisors and production crews to meet targets.
• Maintain equipment care and housekeeping at all times.
• Operate within a 7/7 rotating day/night roster.

The Role

As an Excavator Operator, you'll play an important role in delivering safe and productive mining operations.

You’ll operate large-scale excavators to efficiently load haul trucks while working to the mine plan and maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and equipment care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating 120T+ excavators and D9+ dozers
• Loading haul trucks safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-starts and routine equipment inspections
• Identifying and reporting equipment faults
• Working closely with Supervisors and production crews
• Following mine plans, site procedures and operational standards
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and equipment care
• Working safely to achieve daily production targets

What You’ll Bring
