Job summary

Talent Focus is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our civil construction teams across Melbourne's North and West. You will operate excavators safely, carry out bulk earthworks and trenching, and read plans to exact levels with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years' excavator experience, civil construction background, and holds a Construction Industry White Card and relevant tickets. GPS experience with Trimble or Topcon is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Excavator Operator – Civil Construction

We are seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our team working across a range of civil construction sites throughout Melbourne's North and West areas.

There is an excellent ongoing opportunity available for reliable and experienced operators who can hit the ground running and work confidently with minimal supervision.

We are looking for operators with a minimum of 3 years' excavator experience and a strong background in civil construction.

Experience with final trim and GPS systems such as Trimble or Topcon is advantageous but not essential.

There are also excellent opportunities for overtime, with great overtime rates available for operators looking to maximise their earning potential.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently across civil construction sites.
• Carry out bulk earthworks, site cuts and general excavation.
• Complete detailed excavation and final trim work where required.
• Undertake trenching for drainage, sewer and services.
• Complete battering, benching and site preparation.
• Excavate around existing services and infrastructure.
• Load trucks and assist with general earthmoving activities.
• Operate using GPS systems such as Trimble or Topcon where required.
• Read and work from plans, levels and site instructions.

About you

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating excavators.
• Strong civil construction experience is essential.
• Experience operating excavators across a range of sizes.
• Experience operating 20T+ excavators is highly advantageous.
• Experience with final trim and detailed excavation is highly regarded.
• GPS experience with Trimble or Topcon is highly advantageous.
• Experience with bulk earthworks, drainage, trenching, site cuts and general civil works.
• Ability to read plans and work accurately to levels and specifications.
• Able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Relevant excavator/plant tickets.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
